Our Music
The Lullabies for Africa album is a compilation of original lullabies that were composed specifically for this project by a number of songwriters and musicians, ranging in age from four to thirty. The album features 16 lullaby tracks of varying styles, sounds and voices. Artwork for the album is letterpressed so hardcopies of the album will be limited. You can purchase your hardcopy on our etsy store or digital copies are available here.
Our Goods
Letterpress: Inspired by the African culture, Lullabies for Africa extends beyond the reach of music alone. The album artwork is printed on a Chandler and Price platen letterpress by Moglea Paperie. This printing method was common in South Africa in the 1800’s and was used to translate the Bible into Tswana.
Authentic African Fabric: Handmade blankets, burp cloths, and giraffe rattles were designed by Lullabies for Africa to compliment the album. These items were sewn using authentic african print fabric. This fabric was also used to create one-of-a-kind jewelry, hair accessories, and pins. All of these items are available for purchase at the travelling display or on Etsy.
Recycled Burlap: A variety of items such as purses, bags, cluthes, totes, and rugs are available for purchase on a limited basis. These eco-friendly items are hand crafted using recycled coffee bean bags.
Our Goals
All proceeds and donations to Lullabies for Africa will go towards funding a Christian Missions Aid (CMA) trip to Kenya in November working in orphanages and other CMA relief and development projects. Beyond this, proceeds and donations will be passed along to families who are currently in the process of adopting children from Africa.
